I really ought to go and see it as it would be a new species for me too.Ragged Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14090463834740346114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8393606565428396544.post-50559690612548878842018-06-13T23:33:54.731+01:002018-06-13T23:33:54.731+01:00Sweet! They successfully bred here last year - a first for Yorkshire - and they've come back this year with a second possible nest too. It's the first time i've seen them, though the odd bird does turn up here and there!Pamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16453290738987000802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8393606565428396544.post-48586757698179054272018-06-13T16:20:45.276+01:002018-06-13T16:20:45.276+01:00Followup comment: I have a book called "The E...Followup comment: I have a book called "The EBBC Atlas of European Breeding Birds" published in 1997. As of the date of publication Eurasian Spoonbill had not bred in Britain, so obviously the first breeding occurred sometime during the last twenty-one years.David M. Is this a recent phenomenon? I have never even seen the adult bird during my visits to the UK.David M. Gascoigne,https://www.blogger.com/profile/17229638811027153569noreply@blogger.com
