Snowdrops

Spotted these just peaking out under the hedge in our garden last week.

Today they are almost flowering but I think the snow over the past couple of days has put them off!

Lots of gardens around here already have flowering snowdrops even in the garden next door, I wonder why mine are taking their time!

  1. I noticed a few snowdrops poking through the ground yesterday lunchtime...spring is on its way! Yay! Linda

  2. I hope so though I saw a brief bit on the news today that said more snow and freezing temps by the end of next week!

  3. Hi Pam.
It all depends on how deep the bulbs are. Shallower planted ones will flower earlier than deeper ones.

  4. Of course, I didn't think of that!

  5. Yours are doing better than mine Pam! Mine seem to have disappeared altogether, they were a present about four years ago and I put them where I could see them from the window but I don't think they were ever happy there and this year they seem to have given up altogether! I shall try again and hope to do better next time.
