A Misty Morning

With lockdown restrictions still in place over the past few weeks we haven't been going far at all. The weather hasn't been great on my days off but after days of fog we needed to get out regardless and headed out early one Sunday morning around the local parks.

I still managed to see a fair few birds including a Nuthatch in Dartmouth Park, the first time i've seen one there in all these years!

The fog did not make for good photos - not of birds anyway - it did make everywhere look a little eerie.

Anyone else think this tree stump looks like a dog?!

Black-headed Gull

Mistle Thrush

Robin

Wren

It was good to get out even if it was local but I am desperately missing going further afield, i've been able to keep myself busy with all the decorating and such over the past few months but now it's all done and I have time on my hands............

  1. Lovely misty photos Pam and it does look very spooky and eerie and atmospheric! I agree about the tree stump resembling a dog.

I know the feeling about missing going out or travelling far. The rubbish weather doesn't help either. I suppose we can but hope that when vaccinations eventually get properly under way things may slowly improve next year.

  2. There comes a time, Pam, when you simply have to get out. The weather may not be to your liking, and stumps may take on the appearance of dogs, the air may be saturated and the wind in your face - no matter, you still need to be outside. It really does appear that a vaccination is on the way so if the bumbling authorities (there's a misnomer) can organize the distribution swiftly and efficiently, and actually get people vaccinated, the end to restrictions on movement may be in sight. In the meantime keep on walking, cobwebs and all!

    1. Yes I agree! The vaccinations are under way here so fingers crossed we do start to see a change to things in the new year.

  3. The misty photos are very seasonal and atmospheric and yes I can see a dog in the stump. It's good to get out and about although we haven't been far over the last few days as it was raining so much. Today we walked to the post office and posted the Christmas cards. I love your photos of the webs and also the thrush and robin:)

  4. The fog creates an entirely new world, love all the photos. The Mistle Thrush really pretty...It's been more of a monetary issue for me lately, as tax time has rolled around and other expenses keeping me grounded. They raised our taxes because they built 3 new schools, that are mostly not open now...Makes one wonder?
It's hard after a big project like your remodel to get back to doing simple things. I hope your lockdown eases up soon I think here they are giving up on trying to contain the virus. Trump only bought 100 million doses, and refused the chance to buy more back in JUNE so those doses went to other countries...that will only vaccinate 1/3 our population. So how will they distribute that 1/3 across the 50 states???? And it's only 95% effective...so that brings the odds down even lower. Have a great week Pam. Stay safe.

    1. It does! Thanks Sondra. Oh yes, my husband is self-employed so we have the taxes coming too in the new year! I suppose you don't mind so much if you're taxes are actually going to the thing they're supposed to when they raise them?!

We are still in a high lockdown here at the moment, but they have started the vaccinations, it will take time though. I can't imagine how they'll start with the vaccinations with you if they don't have enough, it's prioritising those most at rist but with that man in charge who knows.......thank goodness he'll be gone soon!
