First Snow of Winter

It fell overnight Friday and also a little today. We don't have a lot but it's covered everything and really brought out the birds into the garden once i'd defrosted the water and topped up the feeders! We even had a rare visit from 2 female and one male Chaffinch and a Greenfinch.

Here are a few pictures taken over the weekend.

  1. I like the pic of the Robin, we had an extra covering tonight Pam, looks like it might be here for a few days. Linda

  2. Lovely to see the weather is bringing the birds to your garden Pam. Very nice photos, I particularly love the one of the Robin. The little figure in the second photo made me smile :)

We have only had a light dusting of snow but I suspect there is more to come. We have had temperatures of -10C though!

  3. Love your Robin photo, Pam. Such pretty little birds. American "Robins" are big hulking thrushes.

  4. Hi Pam. We have snow forecast for tomorrow and the birds have been flocking to the feeders today ... I guess they know what's coming! Interestingly we also had a rare visit from a male Chaffinch as well. FAB.

  7. Thanks for all the comments, the Robin is quite a stunning little bird - it's been around everyday and the white under his chest is the same colour as the snow!
