Rodley Nature Reserve

This visit was mid May, the weather is still dull and chilly but spring is in full force despite this!

The ponds were teeming with life

There wasn't a lot of birds on the water but we saw Little Grebe, Herons, Canada Geese, Swans, Mallards, Tufted Ducks and Common Terns. The Sand Martin home was well used!

I spotted Blackcaps in the trees by the duck marsh hide and along the willow walk were Bullfinch, Robins, Dunnocks, Blue Tits, a Jay and Wrens

Some other views from the day. We always end up spending a few hours here, it's a great place to explore!

  1. It's such a lovely place and over this summer I think it has been looking it's best, really enjoyed one of the moth trapping events they had, wish I could get more often
